Gemma Atkinson

I started this portrait for showing my students how to start a digital painting using a traditional technique approach and was rather enjoying it so I just went ahead and finished it. I've also included some pics of the process, the one on the left was what I came up with during that class session. She looks kinda weird on the final image but I still like it :). I got the original pic from the web, a girl named Gemma Atkinson, an actress as I just found out.

The LOPE is back.

Lionel Messi, done for SOHO magazine, May 2010 issue. I had no idea who Messi was before being commissioned to paint him. Not much of a soccer fan but the guy is amazing!

The game of a lifetime (El partido de mi vida)

A series of illustrations done for SOHO magazine. Eduardo Sacheri (screenwriter for 2010 Academy Award winner film El secreto de tus ojos), local singer Carlos Vives and Antonio Skármeta (screenwriter for Academy Award winner Il Postino) were asked to tell which has been their best soccer match ever. Terrific stories by all.
